Well, I thought I’d check back in with Shoutbox and I’m actually kind of glad I did, because this is the first thing that greeted me.
Nov 1st Update: we have updated the framework folder across all of our WordPress Themes for security and new functionality! Read more about the Changes at the bottom of the Page. Updating is highly recommended!
That’s awesome, a complete, ground up rebuild of the Shoutbox magazine theme. Probably just about overdue, since this theme has been out since 2011. But, just because it’s old doesn’t mean it’s dated, in my opinion. This theme is still as relevant as ever. Kreisi designed this theme to last a long while and I guess it really paid off. HTML5, CSS3, SEO optimized sematic code, that stuff matters and that’s probably why this theme is still available after so many others have fallen by the wayside.
It’s nature’s way.
Now, despite being completely rebuilt for functionality and security, Shoutbox is still the same tried and true social networking theme you’ve always enjoyed. The same theme with the 4.4 rating overall on ThemeForest and well over 1000 downloads and counting. This is the description given by Kreisi, one of the most well known developers on ThemeForest and one of the all time best sellers too.
Shoutbox is a minimal Magazine and Blog Theme, that uses a very elegant Featured Slider for news presentation. It is built on one of the most flexible WordPress Themes on Themeforest. With the help of a dynamic Template Builder you can create stunning page layouts without any coding knowledge. Yet if you are a developer eager to create your own PHP files the theme supports you as well with a very structured folder and file system. It has a unique built in slideshow manager (no plugins needed), supports both self hosted videos as well as vimeo, youtube, etc and comes with a content importer for faster setup.
Kreisi offers great support on his website and it’s there that you can find the answers to any issues you run into with this theme. So, that’s what we have to say about Shoutbox, a wonderful magazine theme that’s got the features and the style that many webmasters are looking for. I really love that this theme isn’t a Visual Composer based template, which is all too common these days. It’s not too much to ask to see more themes like this one, that work well but don’t require Visual Composer to function properly.
